In the 1950s, Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd's 'Downbeat Soundsystem' was the most important sound system in downtown Kingston's burgeoning Dancehall scene. Wishing to produce his own records, Dodd launched Studio One, a now legendary Jamaican reggae label that introduced the world to Bob Marley amongst many others.
