This book presents a recent history of World Neuroradiology as recorded by the member societies of the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies (WFNRS), a co-operative grouping of over 40 Neuroradiology Societies representing all the continents of the world. This publication is also a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the WFNRS.

The foundations of Neuroradiology as a sub-speciality were laid down by pioneers like Auguste Wackenheim, Jean-Paul Braun and George du Boulay, who established the European Society of Neuroradiology and formulated the first guidelines for training in Neuroradiology. These foundations form the basis for the compilation of this book, which records the rapid development and growth of our speciality since the 1990's. Practically, the book's objective is to record the living professional memory of the development of Neuroradiology from the 1990's to the current day and to promote a mutual understanding of the global evolution and diversification of Neuroradiology. WFNRS as a Federation of Neuroradiology is in a unique position to gather and record such an international memory.
