On 14 June 2017, Liesbeth Lijnzaad was elected as Judge in the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the first Dutch member of the Tribunal. It is one of the many avenues her career could have taken after her years of service as the Legal Adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of hte Kingdom of the Netherlands. This volume pays tribute to Liesbeth Lijnzaad's contribution to the development of international law to date as a scholar. It bringst together all her articles in the fields of general international law and law of treaties, human rights and women's rights, international humanitarian law, and law of the sea. It necessarily is a snapshot as it may be expected that many more contributions are to come.
