For Clinicians, Imagers and Basic Scientists
The Human Thalamus with a Mesoscale DTI Atlas is the first comprehensive work to address the neuronal and membrane processes of the human thalamus. This work will use the naming system for the primate thalamus, combining it with detailed diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) brain images, to create a high-resolution brain atlas.

Many books describe thalamic neuronal and membrane processes in animals while systems neuroscience of the human thalamus has been largely ignored. The Human Thalamus with a Mescoscale DTI Atlas utilizes the nomenclature for the primate thalamus, developed by Professor Ted Jones, combined with detailed DTI brain images, to create a high-resolution, first of its kind, brain atlas.
Clear explanations and extensive references connect the human brain systems, thalamic nuclei, and clinical conditions to existing research in monkeys all provided with many illustrations. This book connects each thalamic nucleus with related neuroscience, enabling the design and interpretation of studies of the thalamus by neuroscientists, neurologists, and imagers.
