The Germanic languages form a major sub-branch of the Indo-European language family, encompassing widely studied languages such as English, German, and Dutch, alongside lesser-known languages including Faroese, Frisian, and Luxembourgish.
This volume investigates fundamental questions about the contact grammars of the Greek and Romance varieties of southern Italy. It uses numerous case to provide a comprehensive documentation of these varieties, furthering theoretical understanding of how languages change under contact.
This book proposes an object-centred and contextualist account of the count/mass distinction. The main finding is that there is a connection between variation in count/mass lexicalization patterns and the ways in which nouns can diverge from manifesting the canonical grammatical reflexes expected of the count/mass distinction in a given language.
