Journalist Corey Pein takes a stab at the latest iteration of the American dream in which an entrepreneur culture sees thousands of young people - predominantly white male 'nerds' - jostle for a trajectory comparable to Jobs and Zuckerberg, but this is quickly exposed to Pein as a harmful and unrealistic aspiration, and a culture hijacked in places by ultra-libertarianism, white supremacy and insidious visions of the future
