This book investigates under what conditions consent under pressure can be valid. It evaluates the role that third parties, or social pressure, can play in undermining valid consent, and in particular to understand how constraining another person's options can undermine the possibility of valid consent.
The aim of this book is to provide a unified reading of Locke's theory of perception, informed by works with which Locke himself was familiar.
